Bidding opens for £7.1m Chorley digital business base

Chorley Council is searching for a contractor to build a £7.1m digital office park to the North West of the Lancashire town, delivering 51,000 sq ft of space for start-ups and SMEs.
The Strawberry Fields development was approved last year, and is backed by £4.1m of European Regional Development Fund money.
The architect is Durham-based Howarth Litchfield Architects.
Facilities at the office building on Euxton Lane will include hot desks, pods, and micro-offices through to suites for the expansion of businesses on the site.
An opening of the digital office element is targeted for 2019.
Later development around the building is set to include a business centre and housing.
The deadline for receipt of tenders is noon on 23 October.
