BCSC 08: CTP/Sainsbury’s to start Neston scheme

Sainsbury's and developer CTP have reaffirmed their commitment to the mixed-use scheme in Neston, Wirral, pledging to start construction in March 2009.

"In these very difficult economic conditions it's even harder to produce town centre schemes which really can deliver all round benefits. But we've managed it in Neston with the help and support of CTP and Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council and we'll be starting work on site in March next year," commented Sainsbury's development surveyor Paul Miller.

CTP said the new store will rate BREEAM 'very good' for its environmental standards.

The scheme will include a new town square, a café, parking for 238 cars, community facilities, and 14 residential units.

Sainsbury's aims to have the store open in summer 2010.
