Bardsley starts on Mulbury’s second Ancoats PRS scheme
Mulbury’s second private rented residential scheme in Manchester’s Ancoats has started on site with an 18-month build programme due for completion in May 2019.
The £30m scheme, designed by Tim Groom Architects, includes 143 flats on the corner of Blossom Street and Great Ancoats Street.
Piling works have now started on the project, which will see Bardsley build two separate blocks of eight and seven storeys, including a mix of one, two, and three-bed apartments, alongside three townhouses.
The project will also provide communal space for residents and around 2,200 sq ft of commercial space at ground floor level.
Nick Leggett, development manager for Mulbury City, the company’s city centre residential division, said: “Piling work is scheduled to start on site this week in line with our construction programme.
“We look forward to seeing this exciting PRS scheme take shape in the weeks ahead.”
Plans for the scheme were approved in January, and Mulbury secured a funding deal with DTZ Investors to back the development in July.
Bardsley is already on site at Mulbury’s first PRS scheme in the city, a 135-unit project at Port Street, funded by M&G Real Estate for completion in summer 2018.
