Bangor bowling alley approved

Aurora Property Group has secured planning permission from Gwynedd Council for a ten-pin bowling alley at Gateway Park in Bangor, North Wales.

The new bowling alley is to be positioned on the retail trade park site fronting Llandegai Road and the planning permission also allows for the bowling alley to be supported by further leisure facilities including a shop, café, bar, children's play area and car parking facilities.

A spokesperson from Aurora Property Group said: "There is currently no bowling facility in Bangor, and in working together with local councillors and officers of the council we are pleased to have been able to secure planning permission to bring this leisure activity to the town and also play our part in creating job opportunities for local people.

"We are currently in talks with a range of leisure operators to secure tenants that will complement the new bowling facility and help to create a leisure destination for local people to enjoy."

Located on the A5 arterial route to Bangor, a quarter of a mile from the A55 North Wales coastal route and half a mile from Bangor town centre, the 12-acre Gateway Park is divided in to three phases.

The first phase comprises four trade counter units ranging in size from 3,500 sq ft to 3,800 sq ft and is home to tenants such as Eurocell and Screwfix. Gateway Park is also home to a Driving Standard Agency Centre and test driving track.

In addition, the site comprises 74,338 sq ft of existing commercial space, as well as several acres of additional development land, which is available for design and build opportunities.

Aurora has completed the second phase of development at the park, which will consist of five units totalling in excess of 16,000 sq ft.
