Avison Young readies Manchester relocation

The real estate consultancy is to move from Norfolk House to an 11,000 sq ft workspace at Aviva’s 11 York Street.

Avison Young has exchanged contracts on a deal that will see the company relocate its Manchester operations, Place North West understands.

The firm will remain at Norfolk House, where it has occupied around 16,000 sq ft since 2019, until December.

Avison Young will join Rolls-Royce at 11 York Street. The company’s nuclear technology division took a floor within the 80,000 sq ft building in June.

The office, designed by AHR Architects and built by Kier Construction, completed last year, six years after plans for the development were approved by Manchester City Council.

OBI Property and CBRE are the retained agents for 11 York Street.

Aviva was contacted for comment.

Another professional services firm downsizing post pandemic. Shows that WFH culture here to stay and tough times remain ahead for Offices sector.

By Grumpy Old Git

Oh great GoG, so what you’re saying is we’ll never get offices in Liverpool now? I don’t believe it for a minute. People with vision don’t just just see a future they create one. Those with none see only what’s immediately in front of them. Offices will always be built and needed. Made to operate more flexibly maybe, but always needed.
