Aurora fills up ahead of completion

The 146,000 sq ft industrial park is 75% let before its completion in December, according to Stockport Council.

Electro-mechanical engineer Baumüller is to move into two units totalling 19,200 sq ft, on which fit-out is now taking place ahead of a relocation early in the New Year. It is currently located off Didsbury Road in Heston Mersey.

Aircraft maintenance specialist Aeroco has also agreed a deal on two units, signing for 20,000 sq ft in addition to the company’s facility at Manchester Airport.

Aurora is located off Brinksway, close to Edgeley and junction one of the M60. CBRE is instructed as letting agent by the council, which has led on the development.

Cllr Kate Butler, cabinet member for economy and regeneration at Stockport Council, said: “The transformation that has taken place at Aurora Stockport is astounding. The specification of the units and the connectivity these offer to businesses is impressive and the new industrial park will provide the ideal environment from which companies can grow and succeed. Aurora Stockport has a very bright future.”

Steve Capper, associate director at CBRE, added: “The success of Aurora Stockport has highlighted the continued strength of occupational demand within Stockport which is why together with the location and high quality of the scheme I fully expect it to be fully occupied in the near future.”

Carillion and CBRE have acted for the council as development manager and project manager on the project. Seddon is main contractor.
