Aura Heritage enters liquidation
The second coming of the conservation contractor has gone bust with debts of £1.6m three years after it was formed.
Aura Heritage’s directors have appointed Alvarez and Marsal to liquidate the business, according to Companies House.
According to documents on Companies House, the Aura went under with total liabilities of £1.6m, including £200,000 owed to employees and £245,000 to trade creditors.
The firm was set up by Craig Liddle in 2020 as part of a pre-pack deal following the dissolution of his Aura Conservation outfit.
That business, set up by Liddle in 2006, collapsed with debts of £2.5m.
Since Liddle’s death in 2021, Aura has been run by managing director Dave Harry.
Aura’s previous projects include upgrades at Salford Lads’ Club, repairs to the 1830 warehouse at Manchester Science Museum, and maintenance work at St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
Recent contract wins for Aura Heritage included the refurbishment of Haslingden Market and the creation of Maryport Maritime Museum.
B&E Boys has since picked up the market scheme while Cumberland Council is looking for a replacement contractor in Maryport.
The liquidators and Aura were contacted for comment.
