Transport planning consultancy Astute launches
Phil Tilby and Olly McLaughlin, both formerly at SLR, have banded together to create an independent company geared towards advising clients on their infrastructure needs and strategy.
Manchester-based Astute Transport Planning will enable the two to utilise their combined more than 30 years of experience in the field of transport planning to provide hands-on support to clients.
Tilby and McLaughlin worked together at Vectos prior to the company being purchased by SLR, as well as at JMP Consultants. Tilby has also worked at AECOM.
In their previous roles, they have worked on projects for Peel, Harworth, Ask Real Estate, Bruntwood, Wain Estates, and Tritax Symmetry.
The Astute manifesto includes pledges to be approachable, rigorous, and (evoking its namesake) astute in its advice.
Services provided by Astute include infrastructure design and costing, parking and delivery strategies, site access strategy development and preliminary highway design, feasibility studies, assistance with masterplan development and urban regeneration, site promotion through local plans, and junction modelling.
“We look forward to providing clients with bespoke, high-quality advice which we know Astute will become renowned for,” McLaughlin said.
“We already have exciting plans for how we will run and grow the company over the coming months.”
Astute is based at the Express Building in Ancoats.
