Ask tells buyers ‘use rent for deposit’

Residential developer Ask Life has extended its special offers on apartments in a bid to help first time buyers ride the credit crunch.

Ask is offering people interested in its Abito apartments in Greengate, Salford, the chance to rent an apartment for a six month period with the choice of using the money they have paid as rent as a deposit should they then decide to purchase the property.

There are currently 24 apartments left in the scheme at Greengate out of a total of 256. Rent is £600/month and purchase prices start from £135,000.

Sian Pitt, head of sales at Ask Life, says: "With so many first time buyers struggling at the moment, we thought by adding this extra incentive we can really give them the chance to get their foot on the property ladder. By renting to start off with, they can have the opportunity to 'try before they buy' and see if they can handle the payments and responsibility of owning before they commit to a long term decision."
