Ask development director joins Muse

Ask Real Estate development director Leon Guyett has left the company after more than 12 years to join fellow developer Muse.

Guyett joined Ask from Whitbread in 2006 and during his time at the company led a range of projects including the Knowsley Place £80m development in Bury and its £200m joint venture with Patrizia at Gateshead Quays.

He started his new role with Muse this week and will act as a development director for the company, working with regional director Phil Mayall on a range of projects across the North West. He will be based at Muse’s office at Anchorage Quay in Salford.

Muse is working with a number of local authorities across the region including Stockport, Preston, Wirral, Warrington, and Bolton.

For Wirral, it is development partner for a £1bn regeneration programme, while in Warrington the company is on site at Time Square, a major mixed-use development in the town centre. In Bolton, Muse is partnering with the local authority to deliver Church Wharf, a key phase of the town’s £1bn masterplan.

Mayall said: “I am delighted to welcome Leon to the team, where he will add his considerable experience to our growing portfolio of projects in the region.

“Leon’s track record, experience in leading major, mixed-use regeneration projects, along with his contacts in the sector are second to none and we are thrilled to have him on board.

“Attracting someone of Leon’s calibre to Muse, is not only significant for the business, but is also a great endorsement of our strategy and vision.”

Ask Real Estate was sold by Carillion in October last year to the Richardson family for £14m. The company’s development pipeline includes a £300m mixed-use project next to the Beetham Tower in central Manchester, originally named Found Space but since rebranded as Viadux.

Following the buyout, Ask managing director John Hughes and finance director Jonathan Cross continue to head up the company.
