Architect wanted for listed Lakes activity centre

Lake District Calvert Trust is looking to appoint an architect with heritage experience to remodel its grade two-listed facility on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, Keswick.

The trust wants to expand its services by delivering rehabilitation programmes to people with acquired brain injuries, and needs to redevelop its centre.

It has issued an OJEU contract notice detailing its requirements: a RIBA-chartered practice that will either already employ or be able to appoint a professional advisor with a conservation accreditation recognised by Historic England.

Practices applying should be able to demonstrate three heritage renovation projects within the last five years, and that they have undertaken fully accessible residential facilities within the same timeframe. The deadline for submissions is 28 February.

The Calvert Trust has been operating outdoor activities for people with disabilities for 40 years. It also has facilities in Kielder and Exmoor.
