Aprirose sells Wirral’s Marine Point for £44m

David Samuel Properties has acquired the 234,615 sq ft New Brighton leisure scheme.

Aprirose has sold Marine Point, which is anchored by a Morrisons supermarket, for £44m. The sale comes two years after Aprirose acquired the scheme from Promenade Estates for £42.5m.

In addition to the supermarket, the development incorporates a seven-screen Light cinema and 66-bedroom Travelodge. Other occupiers include Iceland, Greene King, Home Bargains, Prezzo, Costa and Starbucks.

Marine Point, which attracts around 500,000 visitors a year, also boasts a 700-space car park.

Meenal Devani, chief investment officer at Aprirose, said: “We are pleased to have executed the sale of this asset, taking the opportunity to recycle our capital as we look to continue to invest heavily in sectors such as affordable PRS, student accommodation, hospitality, leisure and industrial real estate.”

CBRE acted for Aprirose, David Samuel Properties was advised by Metis Real Estate Advisors.

Marine Point is a popular destination ,and New Brighton can up it`s game if many of the planned developments materialise, especially on the site of the indoor fair, and Wetherspoons is doubling in size, meanwhile another chain hotel would be a good move.
