Approval for Carlisle’s 1.8m sq ft Harker View

Strawson Holdings now has permission from Cumberland Council to begin developing a major 120-acre industrial and logistics hub on the former Grearshill Farm in Harker.

Full permission was granted for Harker View’s Plot 3000, which is to be an industrial facility comprising three units ranging from 38,600 sq ft to 72,100 sq ft.

Outline consent was given for the 1.5m sq ft Plot 1000 and the 25,000 sq ft Plot 2000, which are both already being courted by an international e-commerce logistics operator.

The final piece, Plot 4000, has permission for a 50,000 sq ft unit and a 75-bed hotel, with a public house, diner, and drive-thru restaurants proposed to support Harker View.

Frank Shaw Associates drew up the masterplan for the 1.8m sq ft facility. Agent MDPC led Strawson Holdings through the planning process.

Harker View lies off the A7 – a three-arm roundabout is proposed as the primary access to the industrial park.
