Application in for Baltic Triangle student block

Borden Properties has submitted an application for 171 studio apartments to Liverpool City Council.

Designed by NS Architects, the scheme would be built on the 10,000 sq ft site bounded by Norfolk Street and Watkinson Street.

A disused two-storey warehouse occupying the site is to be demolished and a 10-storey block is proposed, delivering accommodation for 171 students and 3,500 sq ft of commercial space.

The latest in a series of developments regenerating the area, the proposal comes after Elliot Group submitted plans in January to build a 306-room Vincent Hotel on Norfolk Street and Miami’s proposals for 156 apartments in an 11-storey block on New Bird Street were approved earlier this year.

The Planning Studio is advising.

Borden Properties is a developer based in Liverpool and the two directors are Jennifer Birch and John Birch.
