AO.com signs at Crossflow 380
Online retailer AO.com has agreed an off market deal with Prologis to take a 10-year lease on a 386,000 sq ft warehouse in Weston Road, Crewe.
The Crossflow380 distribution facility was previously occupied by Tesco, whose lease expires later this month. AO.com had sub-let 150,000 sq ft from Tesco on a short-term lease. Around 180,000 sq ft was also occupied by Wincanton, on an 18-month lease.
The warehouse is in addition to AO.com’s 360,000 sq ft unit that it currently occupies, also in Crewe.
Savills advised AO.com, Prologis was unrepresented.
Jonathan Atherton, industrial director at Savills, said: “We are pleased to have completed this significant acquisition to facilitate the continued expansion of AO.com. Crewe has firmly become AO’s logistics base for the UK, offering both connectivity to the M6 and a strong local workforce. Both factors influenced the decision to expand in the town.”
