Anwyl pitches 153 homes at Omega South

Submitted plans detail the development of 115 open market houses and 38 affordable homes on a former RAF base to the northwest of Warrington.

Planning consultant Connolly’s submitted the application to Warrington Council on Anwyl’s behalf.

The developer is seeking consent to carry out phase five of Omega South in Warrington, named Eagles Green in a light homage to the former Burtonwood RAF base motto.

The 153 properties would be two and two-and-a-half-storey detached and semi-detached houses.

The open-market properties would be split into 57 three-bedroom houses, 20 three-bed townhouses, 32 four-bed detached homes, and six five-bed detached houses.

All 38 affordable homes would be semi-detached, 22 of them would be two-beds and the remaining 16 would be 3-bedroom houses.

The affordable homes would be tenure-blind and dispersed throughout the site.

The mix proposed would see 10 plots reserved for shared ownership, 12 plots for affordable rent, and 16 plots as discounted open-market properties.

All of the homes on the site would have a minimum of two car parking spaces and private gardens that are at least 10 metres in length.

Anwyl Homes bought the 12.7-acre site from M2 Group in August.

The wider £1bn Omega project is being developed in phases. Neighbouring phase six is well on its way to completion, a site of 195 homes.

Work began on unit four, a £28m industrial unit in an area of the site called Omega West.

Working on the project team are WSP, EnviroSolution, Mono Civil Design Consultants, Eddisons, and Malcolm Hughes.
