Anwyl Partnerships plans to build 80 homes in St Helens
Anwyl is working with John McCall Architects to develop the project, which will feature homes across a range of tenures.
The plans come after Anwyl purchased a three-acre site off Cowley Hill Lane for an undisclosed price.
The proposed site sits on land that previously held buildings owned by the NHS. Plans to demolish those buildings were submitted in 2018. According to Anwyl, the original scheme for developing the site was deemed unviable, which explains why it is now vacant.
The Ewloe-based company hopes to hold public consultations on the scheme in the coming weeks to discuss draft proposals.
Sam Oliver, senior land manager for Anwyl is optimistic the plans will have a good response.
“We have worked incredibly hard with the existing owners and planning officers to progress a sensitive design that seeks to maximise the site’s opportunities whilst regenerating a difficult brownfield site,” he said.
The purchase of the Cowley Hill Lane site for an undisclosed amount is not the only news out of Anwyl. The company’s Anwyl Homes branch announced it had appointed Kevin Coyne as senior architecture technician. Coyne is a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and has previously worked for Keepmoat Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Bellway Homes.
