Anwyl buys site for Fylde homes

The Flintshire-based developer’s Lancashire division has bought a nine-acre site in Warton from Hallam Land Management for an undisclosed sum and aims to start building a 96-home development in March.

Anwyl Homes’ plans for the Lytham Road site, between Preston and Lytham St Annes, include one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses.

A total of 30 homes would be designated as affordable under the proposals.

The development will be Anwyl’s first in Fylde, fifth in Lancashire and the eighth to be delivered by the firm’s Chorley-based Lancashire operation.

Under the terms of the planning consent, Anwyl will contribute £380,000 towards local primary school education, bus services and improvements to highways and public realm.

John Grime, managing director of Anwyl Homes Lancashire, said: “This site is an integral part of our plans for the Lancashire region to deliver more than 400 homes a year by 2023. This area of Fylde is perfect for our thoughtfully designed range of family homes and we expect it to be a very popular development.”

Elsewhere in Lancashire, Anwyl is on site delivering 72 homes off Garstang Road north of Preston, while plans for 250 homes in Northwich are also progressing after Cheshire West & Chester Council granted the housebuilder planning approval last September.
