Anwyl appoints Cheshire and North Wales MD

Mark Calvert has joined the housebuilder from Kellen Homes.

Calvert will head up Anwyl Homes’ operations in Cheshire, North Wales, and parts of Shropshire, Wirral and Greater Manchester, replacing Tom Grundy who left the role in December.

He will be based out the company’s Flintshire head office.

Since November 2020, Calvert has been land director at Kellen Homes, which is owned by Renaker founder Daren Whitaker.

Prior to that, he spent eight and a half years at Taylor Wimpey. Calvert began his career as an engineer at Fairclough Homes.

“I’ve always been passionate about creating communities – it’s what drew me to housebuilding from the outset,” Calvert said.

“Anwyl Homes has an excellent reputation as a family-owned business and I’m proud to be joining a company committed to quality and long-term growth. My priorities include building on the strong reputation of the business, creating sustainable communities, and mentoring the next generation of talent in our team.”

Phil Dolan, chief operating officer at Anwyl, said: “Mark brings his wealth of industry knowledge and strong regional experience to the role.

“His track record in leadership and building strong teams will be invaluable as we continue to grow, acquire land in new areas and deliver high quality homes across the North West and North Wales.”
