Alliance’s £50m Uptown faces partial rebuild

Part of the concrete core of Property Alliance Group’s Uptown Manchester development off Trinity Way in Salford is being demolished due to “engineering issues”.

A statement from the developer said: “Our project team has identified engineering issues at Uptown, so our priority is to rectify these as safely and efficiently as possible.

“This will require partial demolition of the development. We anticipate this work will take around two weeks and is being carried out by a specialist company that is now on site. In the meantime, the off-site element of the construction programme will continue.”

Demolition firm PP O’Connor is on site carrying out the partial demolition, which concerns the concrete core of the first of the project’s three proposed blocks. The project team for the 156-apartment Uptown Manchester includes FK Group as lead contractor and Ball & Berry as site inspector.
