Aldi adds to Logistics North presence

Bolton Council has resolved to grant planning permission to a new Aldi Store within the Logistics North warehousing and distribution site.

The application was submitted by Aldi Stores and Harworth Estates, developer of Logistics North.

HOW Planning acted as planning consultants for the retailer and The Harris Partnership as architect.

The 18,000 sq ft store will also be the retailer’s national training store, linked to the national training centre at the nearby 600,000 sq ft Aldi Regional Distribution Centre, also located on the Logistics North site.

Aldi will develop the site and create 40 new jobs, to be the focus of the retailer’s national training program.

The site will also have 108 car parking spaces.

Keith Jones, associate at HOW Planning, said: “This is another important site for Aldi which along with the nearby Regional Distribution Centre represents a significant investment by Aldi in Bolton and both will play a significant role in the company’s national expansion program.”
