Aecom appoints programme management director

Peter Ward has joined global design, build, finance and operating firm Aecom’s Manchester office to lead the programme management business across the North and target local government opportunities.

Ward will head up a team of project managers who are delivering a range of schemes in Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds.

He will also be responsible for developing new business, and will also be in charge of the company’s hospitality and leisure sector in the North.

Ward has relocated back to his Manchester from Saudi Arabia, where he worked as operations director at AECOM.

Ward said: “I am glad to be back in Manchester after a tour of almost seven years in South East Asia and the Middle East, with the prospect of re-connecting with many old clients and ex-colleagues. Also, with the Northern Powerhouse offering, new National Infrastructure Delivery Plan, Government Construction Strategy and the potential for truly transformational change in the North, it is a very exciting place to be working. I look forward to developing and growing Aecom’s capability and business across all sectors in the region and supporting our national expertise.”
