Adlington picks Bardsley for £7.5m care home build
Bardsley Construction has been awarded a £7.5m contract by Adlington, the trading name for Gladman Homes, to build 55 apartments with care and communal facilities at Alexandra Road, Southport.
The 65,000 sq ft development is made up of a four-storey brick building with timber roof, residents’ lounges and dining facilities, landscaping and car parking.
Working alongside Bardsley are John McCall Architects, structural and civil engineers Opus International and quantity surveyors and employer’s agent, Stringer & Pickford.
Construction of the scheme is due to start in December 2017 with completion planned for March 2019.

Other specialist care facilities provided by Bardsley Construction include: a £7.2m extra care scheme for City West Housing Trust that provided apartments for more than 70 residents with facilities including dining room, café, communal lounges, wellbeing suite, assisted bathing, reception and private gardens, and a £4.7m design and construction project for Rochdale Boroughwide Housing to replace residential and retail properties at The Strand, Rochdale with three-storey residential and retail buildings and community facility.
