Adidas asks JLL to dispose of surplus sheds
Sportswear giant Adidas has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle to market two large distribution warehouses in Stockport and Lancaster.
Both are due to be vacated in 2008 as part of an expansion strategy following the merger of Adidas and Reebok. The German sportswear giant is to move in to a new 360,000 sq ft headquarters and distribution facility in Trafford Park, Manchester, being developed by St Modwen subsidiary KPI Properties.
As a result Adidas's current 163,000 sq ft distribution centre on Bramhall Moor Industrial Estate in Stockport, which includes a 22-metre high bay facility and 29,000 sq ft of offices, is now on the market.
Jones Lang LaSalle is also disposing of the former Reebok warehouse, which offers over 166,000 sq ft of distribution accommodation and 1.6 acres of land for potential expansion. The facility is located on White Lund Industrial Estate in Lancaster.
Jones Lang LaSalle is quoting prices of £5.5m for the Stockport facility and £5m for Lancaster, although both are also available to let.
The sites are due to be vacated at the end of 2008 when Adidas moves to Trafford Park.
Colin Chivers, director of industrial and distribution in Jones Lang LaSalle's Manchester office, said: "These two high specification building's come to the market for the first time and will appeal to companies looking for regional or UK headquarters facilities, with the further potential to sub-divide or redevelop."
