B&M Waste Services

B&M Waste Services opened a new 2.5 acre depot and recycling centre at Europa Gate in Trafford Park, Manchester.

The new facility features a state-of-the-art baling machine which can process up to seven tonnes an hour, while an extensive materials recovery facility allows the company to recover card, paper, plastics, wood and metals. This ensures that as much waste as possible is recycled and diverted from landfill.

The site also provides container storage and garage services for the company's extensive fleet, as well as offices for the sales, administration and transport support teams.

B&M director Neil Curtis said: "The new facility underlines the company ethos that any growth must be sustainable. It gives us the capacity we need to continue to expand, without compromising our high quality of service.

"The new centre is also proof of our commitment to flexible and sustainable waste management, and we're confident that it will encourage companies across the region to aspire to the highest possible environmental standards." Several additional jobs have been created by the new facility, with more envisaged as the company continues to grow."

Envirolink Northwest worked closely with B&M Waste to obtain a permit from the Environment Agency that will enable the site to be fully operational as soon as possible. 38 jobs have been safeguarded as a result of the new depot.
