North West Recycling
The company has opened a new £2.5m facility at Rockcliffe, Cumbria, which now has the capacity to process up to 150,000 tonnes of commercial and industrial waste a year.
The materials recycling facility can deal with a much greater range of materials including plastics, glass, aggregates, paper, cardboard, plasterboard and electrical equipment, as well as both municipal and hazardous waste. Around 85% of all waste is now recovered.
Envirolink Northwest played an integral role in helping the business to gain an environmental permit for the site, as well as supporting the planning process for the facility, which currently employs 37 people, with a further 25 new jobs planned.
