Worthington Owen welcomes Rice

Liverpool-based agency Worthington Owen, which was formed last month by Andrew Owen and Mark Worthington, has appointed Nick Rice as full-time consultant.

Rice has been working in his own consultancy, Rice Consulting, for the last three years, which he will now close in order to focus on work for Worthington Owen.

Until 2012 Rice was senior director and head of CBRE’s Liverpool office as well as leading occupier services across the UK regional offices.

He was a co-founder of Irving Rice, which was acquired by CBRE in 2008. Worthington was among the Irving Rice staff who joined the CBRE Liverpool office.

Rice said: “It is exciting to see this new entrant into the regional property market. It is a market which is challenging, and always open to new and fresh ideas. I am pleased to be a part of this new team.”

Worthington Owen was launched in May, and has set up offices in Exchange Flags.

Worthington was previously director and head of office agency at CBRE in Manchester, and handed in his notice in April in order to set up the consultancy in Liverpool, where he was previously based for 15 years until his move to Manchester last August.

Shortly afterwards he was joined by Owen, who was director of business space at Mason Owen for the majority of his property career after joining the company in 1997. Owen specialises in office and industrial agency and valuations.

Worthington Owen’s client list includes Standard Life, Royal London, Hudson Advisors, Downing, Invel Real Estate, Schroders, Grosvenor, Mordril and Arrowcroft.
