SAS Daniels hires five to property team

Neil Powell has joined the law firm’s commercial property team as partner, alongside solicitor Emily Clarke and associate solicitors Stewart Smith and Scott Tams, while associate solicitor Amy Dickens has joined the residential team.

Powell was hired from Hull City Council, and has 30 years of commercial property experience, with specialisms in regeneration and development in the private and public sector. Based in Stockport, he will also cover SAS Daniel’s other offices in Macclesfield, Chester and Congleton.

Smith joined from MFG Solicitors in Telford, and also previously led the legal team at AMEC Widn Energy. He will be based in SAS Daniels’ Chester office.

Tams was hired from Fieldings Porter. Clarke has worked for SAS Daniels on a temporary basis since joining from DWF and has now been made a permanent member of staff.

Dickens joined from Birchall Blackburn Law.

James Clarke, partner and head of the commercial property team at SAS Daniels, said: “Both Neil and Stewart bring experience of the public sector and energy service areas, which will take us into new areas with existing clients and prospective clients. Emily’s already proved her worth over the last few months and is now an integral part of the team, delivering sound property advice for clients.

“The property team is currently in a period of rapid growth with a number of new clients and cases. These five new appointments will not only help us support these new clients but also allow us to address new markets. In addition, they will help bolster the construction and engineering service that we launched earlier this year, set up by Roger Allsup. We’re looking to continue to expand the team in the coming months to support the current and expected growth in the New Year.”
