Q-Park tops out at Embankment

The 442-space Q-Park within Ask Real Estate’s Embankment development at Greengate in Salford has reached the highest point of construction, behind the listed façade of the former Exchange Station.

Q-Park and construction partner Carillion is currently on site with the subterranean car park which, together with the 165,000 sq ft 101 Embankment office, forms the central element of phase one of the Greengate development.

The Q-Park facility will operate over three floors and will be accessed by lifts and stairs to central paypoints which will be located immediately outside the entrance to the scheme’s two office buildings, 100 and 101 Embankment.

The car park forms part of the ground-floor podium upon which the 101 Embankment office is being built.

Ask Real Estate and its joint venture partners, Carillion and Tristan Capital Partners, are on schedule to deliver the first phase of the extensive regeneration project by July 2016.

John Hughes, managing director of Ask Real Estate, said: “Construction of the Q-Park car park has made great progress at Embankment and we are delighted to have secured them as a key operator as we move towards completion next summer. The scheme’s bursting with potential, we’re seeing a definite appetite for the offering and are already fielding enquiries from a number of potential occupiers.”
