Preston to decide on Glovers Court office-to-resi

Preston City Council is set to approve the conversion of a vacant office near Fishergate into 30 apartments.

35 Glovers Court is situated just off Fishergate, Preston’s main shopping street.

According to plans submitted by Equitas Solicitors and agent David Cox Architects, the building would be extended upwards to six storeys, and would include a ground floor retail unit and restaurant. There would be nine two-bedroom and 21 one-bedroom apartments.

The property is an extension to the building which formed part of the former Booths complex on Church Street.

35 Glovers Court is owned by Mohsin Patel, the director of Equitas Solicitors.

David Cox, director of David Cox Architects, told Place North West: “This scheme is very exciting. Preston needs confidence, and this development complements other things going on across the city. The next few years for Preston look much better than the last.”

Preston City Council’s planning committee meeting will meet on Thursday 6 August to discuss the scheme. Planning officers have recommended the development for approval.
