Hundreds of competitors have signed up for the inaugural JLL Property Triathlon North, which is taking place on Friday 24 July at MediaCityUK, Salford Quays.

A jointly sponsored event between JLL and Peel, the sprint triathlon is open to anyone in or connected to the property industry and will see over 700 athletes take on a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run either as an individual or as part of a relay team.

Breakfast TV presenter Louise Minchin will be among the competitors, as part of a relay team alongside her brother who works in the property industry.

Steve Hogg, director in JLL’s Manchester office, said: “We are very excited to host our brand new triathlon – it’s the first time we are bringing the event to the North West and are delighted to see so many people have signed up to be part of it. Special thanks go to the team at MediaCityUK for hosting the event at such an iconic triathlon venue.”

James Whittaker, development director of Peel Group, added: “With race day just around the corner, online registration will close on Wednesday 22 July and thereafter registrations will be taken on the day.”

“I genuinely believe this is going to be a fantastic event for both competitors and spectators – we look forward to welcoming everyone involved next week.”

JLL and Peel’s chosen charities, Starlight and Christies will benefit from the entries to the event.

The JLL Property Triathlon North is the sister event of the well-established JLL Property Triathlon and Property Swim which take place each year at Dorney Lake, near Windsor.  Now into its ninth year, this event is firmly established as one of the UK’s top five largest triathlons and has raised nearly £1.5m to date for charity.
