Innov8 hires for growth
Merseyside-headquartered construction industry firm Innov8 Safety Solutions has appointed advisor Andy Black to support its planned expansion into the oil and gas sectors.
Black, a University of Reading graduate, has five years’ experience in the health and safety sector and recently returned to the UK after spending two years working in Australia and South East Asia. Previously, he was a health, safety and environmental manager at Whelan Refining from 2008 to 2013.
Innov8, which has offices in Birkenhead and Manchester, delivers construction design management advice, principal designer support and site safety services.
The company said it saw turnover increase from £440,000 to more than £700,000 in 2014.
Alan Robson, Innov8 managing director, said the new appointment will help the firm expand into new sectors, including oil, gas and hazardous environments.
“We have launched an ambitious three-year growth strategy aimed at increasing turnover to £1.6m by 2018,” he said. “The appointment of Andy Black is a clear signal of our intent. Innov8’s recent expansion has been driven by a nationwide sales drive with project wins in the commercial, healthcare, maritime and education sectors the length and breadth of the country. Andy’s appointment will add a greater depth of skill and experience, specifically in the oil and gas industrial sectors.”
Innov8’s client wins in the last 18 months included Riverside Group, Manchester Grammar School, Neptune Developments, Waitrose, Berwick Infirmary and Queen Mary’s Hospital Cancer Centre in London.
