Hive on site with £12m Warrington PRS housing

Housing association Your Housing Group has launched Hive, a new development arm for private rented sector homes, and has started on site with its first scheme in Church Street, Warrington.

The £12m development of 106 family homes near the town centre is being delivered in partnership with Countryside Properties.

The scheme will consist of 24 two-bedroom and 24 three-bedroom houses, along with 58 two-bedroom apartments.

Residents at the site will have access to a response team for emergency repairs, an on-site handyman, and gardening, cleaning and ironing services.

The first properties are due to be completed this autumn.

Stephen Haigh, managing director of Hive, said: “This is a game changer for the private rental sector. We want to raise the bar and create a completely new customer experience for those wanting to rent. Our goal is to set new standards in the sector and become the private sector landlord of choice in the North West. Our Church Street scheme in Warrington is just the start. We are committed to building 600 rented homes a year for the next three years.”

Work has started on site and the first properties will be completed this autumn.

Nexus Planning advised on the planning application, which was approved in March.
