Green light for £50m Salford flats

Salford City Council has approved the construction of 270 homes in Ordsall Riverside by Beaumont Morgan and Fortis Developments, across two sites on Ordsall Lane and Woden Street.

At Ordsall Lane, the developer has planned 207 apartments and 13 townhouses, split across two interconnected blocks called Bridgewater Point. The building would be seven storeys at its highest, with a communal roof terrace.

The 1.4-acre site was bought from administrators of Greenwater Properties and is derelict, with a large warehouse and smaller buildings left vacant.

At Woden Street, permission has been granted for an eight-storey block of 53 apartments, above a ground floor retail unit.

The apartments are being sold on a 250-year leasehold by Knight Knox.
