Celebrity chef chooses Mann Island
14 Dec 2010, 09:25
Celebrity chef Raymond Blanc has confirmed he is opening a Brasserie Blanc at Mann Island in Liverpool city centre.
A small chain of restaurants, the 4,750 sq ft Brasserie Blanc will be the only one in the North West and will be situated in a ground floor waterside setting overlooking the canal basin and locks. There will also be outdoor piazza-style seating.
Two years ago the Blanc company said they were too posh for Grosvenor's Liverpool One development when it was being linked to a move there.
John Lederer, managing director of Brasserie Blanc, said: "We have been looking for the ideal location in Liverpool for some time, and we found it at Mann Island. This is an exceptionally original development in a fantastic waterfront location. It is both a hub and an oasis. It offers us everything that we have been looking for."
Steve Parry, managing director at Neptune Developments, added: "I think their decision speaks volumes for the quality and location of the Mann Island development. I am aware that they looked at other sites, but were keen to find a location with a stunning sense of place.
"So, yes I'm delighted that Brasserie Blanc will be opening here, it is a brand and an offer that fits perfectly with the Mann Island ambience of quality, informality and accessibility."
Christie & Co was the agent on the deal.
