13 Dec 2010, 12:41

A new housing development is being unveiled on Tuesday in Moss Side, south Manchester.

The regeneration scheme is being delivered by Manchester City Council in partnership with Miller Homes and GB Building Solutions.

The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Cllr Mark Hackett, will officially unveil the project following a streetdance routine by local charity Company Fierce Academy.

Miller Homes said the development is part of Manchester City Council's Moss Side major intervention area scheme.

A total of 64 Victorian terraced houses located on Hartington Street, Cowesby Street, Rosebery Street and Beresford Street, are being renovated and converted into new two, three and four bedroom homes.

A further seven homes are new build, four bedroom properties, built to the Government's Code for Sustainable Homes level 4, which will be located on Bowes Street, creating a frontage to the development.

The Bowes Street development is part of a wider £17m transformation of the Bowes Street neighbourhood, which is transforming 155 properties in five streets.

The total scheme is being funded by the Homes & Communities Agency.

The launch event is being held on Tuesday 14 December at 1pm.
