Positive outlook for Mouchel
1 Sep 2010, 15:24
Mouchel, the specialist property and highways consultancy to local authorities, said its order book remains steady at £2bn.
Mouchel has 16 offices in the North West, typically linked to local authority contracts which make up the bulk of Mouchel's business, including Liverpool, Knowsley, Wigan, Penrith and Rochdale.
The trading update on Wednesday said the firm had "excellent visibility" of the market ahead which showed the outlook "is becoming increasingly positive as the new government's policies are implemented by organisations across central and local government".
The group is in the process of cutting costs with full year savings expected to be in the region of £25m, including "reductions in headcount, offices and other lease costs".
Meanwhile, Mouchael announced a new finance director. David Tilston replaces Kevin Young, who left the company on 31 August after 12 years' service.
