Pubs top Sutton Kersh auction catalogue
1 Sep 2010, 09:43
The 80 lots on offer at the firm's next sale on 8 September include seven pubs in Merseyside and North Wales.
Sutton Kersh highlighted the Cock & Bottle on Wavertree High Street, guided at £175,000, as a good commercial investment or redevelopment opportunity. The pub is still trading and is suitable for use as existing with the licence available for transfer.
The other six pubs on offer are the Valley Public House on St Domingo Road in Everton, the Royal on Woodchurch Road in Birkenhead, the Mill House on Alderwood Avenue in Speke, Kings Arms on Liscard Road in Wallasey, the Brighton on Brighton Street, Wallasey and Y Bodunig on High Street in Rhyl.
Also on sale is the Former Laundry Cottage in Croxteth Country Park. The Victorian cottage lodge is Grade II* listed and in need of major repair works. Guide price £100,000+.
James Kersh, director of Sutton Kersh, said: "The market has picked up tremendously over the last six months. Competition between investors has returned, which is good news for vendors as this will help stabilise values. But whilst we are seeing a recovery in prices for some properties, there are still some great deals available with values still down on two or three years ago."
The sale will start at 12noon at the Marriott Hotel in Queen Square, Liverpool city centre. Sutton Kersh is now accepting instructions for their penultimate auction of the year, which will take place in October.
