Crane survey: Education dominates NW city skylines

Half of the cranes on Liverpool and Manchester's buildings sites are employed on education projects, making the sector the highest profile building client in the region.

The survey is one part of our Half Year Review published today in association with Hill Dickinson, The Co-operative Bank, Morris & Spottiswood and Emplacement.

In September 2005 there were 57 tower cranes in Manchester city centre with a further six at The Quays. To find out how that number has fallen click on the crane survey link below.

Also in the H1.10 report: property players give their views on the NWDA's legacy, we run the rule over the stats that stood out in the first six months, planning advisors at Drivers Jonas Deloitte reflect on the coalition's swift start to reshaping the system, we disclose the most popular stories on Place and try to find hope for the construction sector amid the budget cuts.
