Chris Evans has been appointed as commercial director and will have responsibility for leading the divisional team on projects in the North West and Midlands. He was part of the senior management team responsible for delivering the £1.6bn Westfield Shopping Centre in London. Prior to this, Evans was with Bovis Lend Lease, commercially responsible for delivering projects such as the £150m northern extension at Manchester's Arndale Centre and the £142m Kings Waterfront development in Liverpool.

Evans said: "Shepherd Construction is a solid business with a reputation for delivering high quality. The company is continuing to deliver a string of high profile projects across the North West and Midlands, and with more in the pipeline, including Liverpool's Central Library which is nearing financial close, this is an exciting time to join the company."

Clive Williamson has been appointed as construction director to oversee and expand operations across the division's Manchester and Liverpool offices.

He was previously managing director of Ocon Construction where he introduced commercial, operational and estimating procedures that significantly improved the company's performance.

Prior to this he was deputy managing director, first at Jarvis Infrastructure Services and more latterly, at Wrekin Construction.

Shepherd Construction's Manchester office is located in Shepherd House on Southmoor Road in Roundthorn Industrial Estate, Wythenshawe.

The company's Liverpool office is based in The Cotton Exchange on Bixteth Street in the city centre.
