Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Nicola Harrington as senior surveyor in the retail team at its Manchester office.
The firm, which has more recruitment planned, said its expanding North and Midlands team secured 11 new mandates in the last 12 months and claimed it had been retained on more shopping centres in the UK than any other agent.
Harrington joins from BTW Sheills and will be working on major shopping centres across the North of England.
Martin Acton, head of Midlands and North retail agency at Cushman & Wakefield, said: "Nicola's appointment will help us to strengthen our position in the North of England where, despite the recession, we have continued to grow our market share. She joins a truly national team in the UK."
