A bumper four-year framework set up by local authorities across the region will be made up of Kier North West, Bovis Lend Lease, Wates, Morgan Ashurst and Laing O'Rourke.
Operating under the North West Construction Hub and managed by Manchester City Council, the agreement will award contracts with a minimum value of £10m.
The work could include any kind of public building owned or managed by councils in Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire from schools to libraries and care homes.
There are two other frameworks run by the newly formed hub, for works under £500,000 and between £500,000 and £10m.
