19 Mar 2010, 14:42

CB Richard Ellis Investors has reported six lettings totalling over 38,000 sq ft at Kayley Industrial Estate on Richmond Street in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Export packers Neal Brothers, which also has operations in America and Germany, has taken two separate units totalling 23,339 sq ft on the estate.

Engineering services firm DB Engineering has taken 5,703 sq ft on a six month lease. Catering company Coles Catering has taken a 2,867 sq ft unit on a five year lease.

Another incoming company, Willows Mechanical Services, has taken a 2,380 sq ft unit on a three-year lease.

Existing occupier First Packaging is expanding with the acquisition of a 3,867 sq ft unit. The firm, which produces corrugated packaging, has taken the unit on a 12 month term and is retaining its existing facility on the estate.

Monster Energy UK, another existing tenant on the estate, has also agreed to renew a lease on its existing unit.

Kayley Industrial Estate provides 42 refurbished units ranging from 1,061 sq ft to 19,291 sq, with the total development comprising 392,723 sq ft of industrial and warehouse space.

John Sullivan, industrial and logistics agent at Lambert Smith Hampton's Manchester office, joint letting agents on the scheme, said: "Kayley Industrial Estate has continued to perform extremely well, despite the challenging economic conditions.

"These latest lettings reflect the flexible nature and overall appeal of the estate, both for existing occupiers and incoming businesses alike."

Rob Trevor, director at CB Richard Ellis Investors, added: "It is really encouraging to see the void rate below 10% particularly in the current market. This reflects a combination of hard work from our letting team, our flexible approach, and working closely with our existing customers to help their businesses survive the downturn and expand as the economy improves."

WHR Property Consultants are joint letting agents.
