Macclesfield residential project approved

Brackenhouse Properties has been granted planning permission for a residential development in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Permission is subject to obligations raised between Cheshire East Council and the developer, known as a S106 Agreement, but once agreed it will give the go-ahead for 87 new homes to be built on land previously occupied by the Territorial Army.

The former TA centre, which borders onto Chester Road, and which stood empty for a long period of time, has now been demolished to make way for redevelopment. Plans will include a combination of houses and flats with landscaping, open space and wooded areas.

Jon Suckley, principal planner at HOW Planning, which submitted the plans on behalf of Brackenhouse Properties, said: "This site has been vacant for some time so it is great to know that something can now be done to transform it into a vibrant new community. It is our client's vision to create a high quality housing development, regenerating the site with improved landscaping and new access routes."

The resolution to grant planning approval also makes way for a new traffic controlled junction off Chester Road into the proposed development along with new public access routes.
