Ollerton to extend Mobberley golf course

8 Feb 2010, 17:52

Cheshire East Council has granted planning consent to Ollerton Leisure to double the size of its golf course in Mobberley.

The club will extend its nine hole course to a full 18 as well as offering a new practice driving range, a smaller six hole academy training course and an extension to its club house, all designed by architects Pozzoni.

Alexa Brain, associate at Drivers Jonas, advising Ollerton, said: "The plans represent a significant investment in the village and demonstrate the club's long-term commitment to the local economy."

Jeremy Hobson, co-owner of the club, said: "Re-developing our club will turn it into a first class leisure facility within East Cheshire, offering a top class course as well as state-of-the-art practice facilities for both members and visitors."

Apparently they have a new golf director who is working miracles, he was a tournament professional in the past. Keeping hold of him may be the difficulty for them as news travels fast! But i wish them well. I will certainly use the facilities.…
