Kier wins £9m recreation centre build

Construction firm Kier North West has landed the contract to build a new public sports centre in Heywood, Rochdale.
The centre will feature a sports hall, 25-metre swimming pool, dance studio, and a choice of gyms including a youth gym.
The centre is supported by grants from the Football Foundation, Sport England, Rochdale council and New Deal for Communities.
Trafford Park-based Kier will spend 14 months building the centre on West Stanley Street in Heywood.
