Barnfield appoints safety successor
2 Feb 2012, 13:44
Pendle-based Barnfield Construction has recruited a new health and safety manager, David Shaw, from Lancashire developer Holme Park.

David Shaw
Shaw trained under Ken Slater Construction as a general builder in the 1990s and spent ten years at Holme Park. Shaw replaces former health and safety manager, Chris Kearns, who has retired.
Shaw said: "When the position of health and safety manager at Barnfield came up due to retirement, the job description sounded perfect for me. Barnfield are a well-respected company that I have been aware of for many years, so I leapt at the opportunity."
David added "It's about mutual respect and not dictating to people who know their job far better than I do, but finding common ground to pull together. My new position at Barnfield will offer wider challenges and the opportunity to develop professionally with greater diversity in a company that is a real success story despite the troubled economic times."
