Himor targets strategic land with Riding
27 Jan 2012, 07:57
Will Ainscough's Himor Group has appointed Northern Trust land regeneration director Mike Riding to head up a new strategic land and planning business, called Stratmor.
Prior to joining Trevor Hemmings' Northern Trust, Riding was managing director of Harrow Estates, also incolved in strategic land acquisition and planning, which he co-founded with Redrow founder Steve Morgan. Redrow later acquired Harrow when Morgan returned to run the Deeside-based house builder once again.
Newton-le-Willows-based Himor is owned by Bill Ainscough, chairman and owner of Langtree, and his son Will, a former Healey & Baker investment manager and founder of WR Estates.
Riding said: "The Stratmor business model fits superbly next to the income profile of Himor's investment portfolio. We already have a number of deals cited for acquisition as part of an ambitious expansion strategy."
He added: "Stratmor will be focusing on planning and environmental promotional agreements for mixed-use sites ranging in size from 10 acres to 100 acres with a variety of end uses including residential retail and renewable energy."
Will Ainscough, managing director of Himor, added: "Mike has a great track record in the strategic land sector and his knowledge and experience will enable us to identify and take advantage of the many exciting new opportunities that exist in this area."
