Seddon recruits former Miller Homes director

Bolton-based Seddon Construction has appointed John Gilman from Miller Homes as national pre-construction manager for its care sector projects.

Gilman was regeneration director at Miller Homes, where he spent five years, finishing in August 2011.

Based at Seddon's Bolton head office in Plodder Lane, Edge Fold, Gilman will be tasked with securing new development opportunities and ensuring effective pre-construction delivery of projects. Seddon Construction is part of the Seddon Group, the family-owned company specialising in construction, painting and maintenance and house-building, with a turnover of over £250m.

Prior to Miller Homes, Gilman was a valuer with Manchester City Council and a land buyer for Lowry Homes. He is an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Jonathan Seddon, managing director of Seddon Construction, said: "John has substantial experience in the house building, development and affordable housing sectors."
