RTPI North West – Investing in delivery: How we can respond to the pressures on local authority planning

Earlier this year, RTPI North West commissioned Arup to investigate the resourcing of local planning authorities, whether a lack of resources is impacting on growth and development, and what needs to be done to respond to these pressures.

Local authority resourcing in the North West region is obviously particularly important to the development of the ‘Northern Powerhouse’.

This event will present the exclusive findings from this research, discuss whether a lack of resourcing in planning is undermining economic recovery across the region, and suggest practical ways in which local planning authorities and others can respond to these pressures to ensure future growth and development.

This event is aimed at local authority planners, local policymakers, developers, planning consultants, and researchers.

Speakers will include:

  • RTPI North West Chairperson
  • Arup researchers
  • Senior local planning authority representative
  • Senior private sector developer/consultancy representative
  • RTPI Chief Executive.

The full list of speakers will be confirmed shortly.

There is no charge to attend this event and it is open to non-RTPI members.

Refreshments (teas and coffees) will be served.

The event will be followed by a drinks reception sponsored by Arup.
